Philadelphia’s seniors should be our most revered citizens. They are the ones who have stood by the city the longest, through good times and bad, and are deserving of our respect and assistance. As City Councilman, I will work to broaden recreational outlets and opportunities for our seniors, enhance community health care programs for seniors, and expand Town Watch initiatives in neighborhoods with significant populations of elderly residents.
I will also work closely with SEPTA to ensure that the city is providing our senior citizens with ample access to public transportation, upon which so many elderly citizens rely. In addition, I will work closely with the District Attorney’s Office to better monitor and crack down on phone, Internet and door-to-door scam artists who prey on our senior citizens.
